Benefit Bytes #4: Take a Step Towards Better Health on National Walk @ Lunch Day

At JKJ, we take our wellness seriously, and we believe that prioritizing our health and well-being is essential. That’s why we’re excited to participate in National Walk @ Lunch Day on April 26th, a perfect opportunity to highlight not only the physical benefits of walking but also how it can impact our mental health and well-being.

Research shows that walking for just 30 minutes every day can have significant health benefits, including reducing the risk of heart attack and type 2 diabetes, maintaining a healthy weight, improving muscle tone, and reducing stress levels. Additionally, walking can significantly improve our mental and emotional health and help with wellness goals, from stress to sleep. Recent studies have shown that a brief walk a day can reduce stress, improve mood, and boost focus. Walking releases natural endorphins in the body, which helps relax muscles and ease tensions to improve mood.

But walking isn’t just good for our physical and mental health; it’s also an excellent opportunity for social interaction. When we walk with coworkers or friends, we have a chance to connect and build relationships outside of the workplace. Walking together is a great mood booster, and it can create a positive and productive work environment.

At JKJ, we’re committed to promoting physical activity and employee wellness. By prioritizing our health and well-being, we can create a happier and more fulfilling lifestyle. We urge you to join in on the fun with coworkers and friends and walk at lunch on April 26th. As polar explorer, Erling Kagge once said, “Life is prolonged when you walk. Walking expands time rather than collapses it…the world becomes larger.” So let’s take that first step towards a healthier, happier lifestyle together and make National Walk @ Lunch Day a success.
